MANILA, Philippines — BDO Unibank Inc. on Thursday announced that it has finally restored access to their BDO Online and BDO Pay mobile applications.

This announcement follows user reports of error messages while opening their online applications, coinciding with payday and just a day before the annual observance of Undas.

“We are happy to inform you that financial transactions on the BDO Pay and BDO Online apps have been successfully restored,” BDO said in an advisory.

BDO previously cited volume usage as the cause of the sudden inaccessibility.

“The Bank has been experiencing ever-increasing volume usage in our digital channels and [has] taken steps to adjust,” BDO said.

“Today’s volume has been substantially higher than the normal peak levels,” it added.

The bank then assured its users that it is already in the process of upgrading to a new digital banking platform, urging users to bear with them as they migrate to the new application.
