MANILA, Philippines — The number coding scheme will be suspended on Thursday, October 24 due to inclement weather triggered by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (International name: Trami), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Kristine developed into a severe tropical storm and is expected to make landfall in Isabela on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said Kristine was located some 175 kilometers east of Echague, Isabela, moving northwestward at 20 kilometers per hour.
